This will both reduce the amount of time is allowed for the material to fester and will make later regular full-cage cleanings easier. Regular full-cage cleanings should be done every week or every two weeks. This should involve moving everything out of the cage and bringing it outside. All dead leaves should be sprayed out of the cage, along with any remaining fecal material. Once this is done, the entire cage should be sprayed with a 1:1:10 bleach: Simple Green: water solution.
