supplement a chameleons diet. You can "dust" the insects, which means to coat them with the mineral supplements, and feed them directly to the chameleon (this is our method of choice). Or you can put the mineral supplementation on the insects food. We also "gut-load" our insects. We feed our crickets collard greens, mustard greens, brocoli, spinach, apples, oranges, cereals, and oats. This is the best way to make healthy insects, and therefore healthy chameleons. If you feed your chameleon crickets that have only been eating iceberg lettuce (or some other nutritionally deficient food), the crickets will not contain enough nutrients or fats to keep your chameleon healthy.
